TERMS AND CONDITIONS: TOP BILLING PRESENTER SEARCH 2026
1. Introduction
1.1. These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the open casting call (“Casting Call”) for participation in Top Billing Presenter Search 2026.
1.2. The organisers of the Casting Call and Top Billing Presenter Search 2026 are Cardova Media (Pty) Ltd and The South African Broadcasting Corporation SOC Limited (collectively “the organisers”)
1.3. Top Billing is a reality magazine television shows that broadcasts on SABC channels.
1.4. The purpose of the Casting Call is to find new talent for the Top Billing presenter line-up (“the Role”).
1.5. By submitting an application or attending an audition, each participant (“Applicant”) agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility
The Casting Call is open to individuals who:
2.1. Are 18 years or older at the date of submitting an application;
2.2. Are legally entitled to work in South Africa;
2.3. Meet any additional criteria specified in the casting brief.
3. Application Process
3.1. Applicants must create and post an audition video showcasing why s/he will be a perfect Top Billing presenter on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, using #TopBillingAudition & #TopBillingPresenterSearch and tag @TopBillingTV & @SABC3.
3.2. Applications will be received between 30 April and 30 June 2026. The organisers reserve the right to amend the application period at its discretion.
4. Audition Process
4.1. Shortlisted Applicants may be invited to attend one or more in-person audition rounds, which are provisionally scheduled to take place during July and August 2026 at such dates and venues to be determined by the organisers. The organisers will select and invite Shortlisted Applicants at its sole discretion.
4.2. The organisers reserve the right to:
- Conduct background checks;
- Request additional information or materials;
- Modify the audition process at any time;
- Withdraw any invitation to a Shortlisted Applicant.
4.3. Shortlisted Applicants will be required to participate in on-camera challenges as directed by the organisers during the audition process, which may (inter alia) include television appearances.
4.4. Shortlisted Applicants may be required to sign written participation agreements to participate further in Top Billing Presenter Seach 2026 at any time during the audition process and the organisers reserve the right to withdraw an invitation to a Shortlisted Applicant should s/he fail to sign such agreement when requested.
4.5. Shortlisted Applicants will be eliminated throughout the audition process at the sole discretion of the organisers.
4.6. Attendance at auditions is at the Applicant’s own cost unless otherwise stated by the organisers.
5. No Guarantee of Engagement
5.1. Participation in the Casting Call does not guarantee selection for the Role.
5.2. The organisers reserve the sole and absolute discretion to select, reject, or not appoint any Applicant.
5.3. The organisers are not obliged to provide reasons for any decision.
6. Release
6.1. By entering, the Applicant grants the organisers a worldwide, royalty-free, in-perpetuity, transferable licence to:
- Record, film, photograph, and otherwise capture the Applicant’s audition/s and participation, including the Applicant’s name, voice, likeness, statements, actions, in the Casting Call and audition process;
- Use, reproduce, edit, broadcast, publish, and distribute such materials in any media, whether now known or developed in the future, for any purposes relating to Top Billing Presenter Search, the Casting Call and Top Billing, including (but not limited to) casting, promotion, publicity, and production.
6.2. The Applicant waives any moral rights (to the extent permitted by law) in respect of such materials.
7. Confidentiality
7.1. Applicants may receive confidential information relating to the production of the Top Billing Presenter Search 2026.
7.2. Applicants agree not to disclose any such information to third parties without prior written consent from the organisers.
8. Conduct
8.1. Applicants must behave professionally and respectfully throughout the Casting Call process.
8.2. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any Applicant for:
- Misconduct;
- Providing false information;
- Any behaviour deemed inappropriate or harmful to the production.
9. Own Risk and Indemnity
9.1. Applicants participate at their own risk.
9.2. Applicants must comply with all health and safety instructions during auditions.
9.3. The Applicant hereby irrevocably indemnify and hold harmless the organisers, its representatives, employees and/or directors, from any claim, injury, harm, loss, or damage suffered by him/her during and/or as a result of his/her participation in the Casting Call and/or the audition process, except where caused by the gross negligence of the organisers.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1. All intellectual property rights in the production, format, and related materials created during the Casting Call and/or audition process remain the exclusive property of the organisers or their licensors.
10.2. Applicants acquire no rights in the production by virtue of participation.
11. Data Protection
11.1. Personal information collected will be used for purposes related to the Casting Call.
11.2. Information may be shared with affiliated entities and service providers involved in the Casting Call.
11.3. By participating, Applicants consent to such processing of their personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act.
12. Cancellation and/or changes
12.1. The organisers reserve the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the Casting Call and/or these Terms and Conditions at any time for any reason at its sole discretion.
12.2. Any changes will be communicated where reasonably possible.
13. Governing Law
13.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
13.2. Any disputes shall be resolved through private arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa.
14. Acceptance
14.1. By entering the Casting Call, the Applicant confirms that s/he has read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
